Dr. Joe Maltsberger
|
Dr. Joe Maltsberger has been a serious student of dentistry since he was a junior at Pawnee High School. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Physiology, he moved on to the OU College of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. For 27 years, Dr. Joe has studied and traveled extensively to develop a cutting-edge, cosmetically oriented dental practice. In 1982 and '83 Dr. Joe traveled to Dallas for training in straight wire orthodontics. He has since trained in many more advanced dental courses. His advanced training has helped Dr. Joe to develop a dental philosophy based on excellent service, high quality care and exceeding expectations.
Dr. Joe's latest passion is guided implant placement. This technique was developed in Sweden and is now being used world wide. Thanks to a proper balance of technology, experience, and focus, this cutting-edge treatment is making major quality of life improvements for our patients.
Traveling, working with his church, and involvement with different community activities are some of Dr. Joe’s main interests. He loves working with kids and spending time with his family. Dr. Maltsberger is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society, and the Oklahoma Dental Association, which recently honored him with the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Citizenship Award. Dr. Joe is an alumnus of the Pride Institute, is a Life Fellow of the J. Dean Robertson Society (of which he was a past board member), and he has an ongoing affiliation with The Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education.

Dr. James L. West
|
Let me introduce myself, I am Dr. James L. West. I was born and raised in
north Tulsa, OK. I received my education from Tulsa University, Oklahoma
State University, and my dental degree from University of Missouri in
Kansas City.
I spent two years in the U.S. Navy then started my dental practice in 1971
in Tulsa. My wife and I, who is a native Tulsan as well, raised two
daughters. The older is a professional photographer, the youngest is a
chiropractor. They both live in Dallas.
I am what my friends call a learning sponge. I love to learn new things
so the dental field was the perfect fit for me. I get great satisfaction
from fixing things. I have extensive training in orthodontics and TMJ,
the study of the jaw and its functions, as well as the many cosmetic
techniques. I have been fortunate enough to have received many awards in
these fields. My latest award was from the Alumni Board at the University
of Missouri, where I continue to be a member. I have also enjoyed
teaching at Tulsa Community College and the Collin County Community Dental
Hygiene School.
I sold my dental practice after 30 years, thinking that was the thing to
do. I found I missed the connection with my patients as well as fixing
things. Thanks to Dr. Joe Maltsberger, I have an opportunity to continue
what I love.

Lashel, RDH

Lashel graduated from dental hygiene school in Boise, Idaho with honors. She began her relationship with dentistry her junior year of high school as a dental assistant for her family’s dentist. Lashel was born and raised in Idaho but recently moved to Oklahoma. She loves dentistry and feels passionately about it.

Lisa, Financial Administrator
|
|
Lisa has been part of Dr. Joe's team since 1989, and has held her current post of Financial Administrator since 2001. She lives on the Ring F Ranch in Talala with her husband of 30 years, Roy. They have a major cow-calf operation. Lisa grew up in Oologah, and she and Roy have remained in this rural area to raise their family, with all three children graduating with honors from Oologah-Talala schools. Their daughters Cheryl and Carrie are married and are certified teachers, and their son Cody is attending Rogers State University. 'We have a wonderful, patient centered office, and it is so exciting to see patients restore their smiles. I love my job; it is such a joy helping patients to receive the dental treatment they need.'

JoAnn, CDA
|

JoAnn has been a chairside dental assistant since 1986, and has worked with Dr. Maltsberger since 2000. When she isn't working, she enjoys photography and spending time with her family. JoAnn is married to Kenny and lives in Hominy. They have two daughters - Charla is married to Samuel, and they have two daughters, Samantha and Madison who are the apples of JoAnn’s eye; Leah is married to Jarrod and lives in Skiatook. JoAnn is a Certified Dental Assistant and has certification in X-Ray, coronal polishing, assisting in the administration of nitrous oxide and advanced orthodontic assisting.

Nancy, CDA

Nancy has been Dr. Maltsberger's right arm since 1987, when she was trained to be a chairside dental assistant right here in our office. She lives in Nowata with her wonderful husband John and their son, Justin. Justin attends Nowata Schools, and John owns and operates a Nowata sawmill. Nancy enjoys spending time on the ranch with her family, gardening, and working at her church in the Children's Church class. Nancy has X-Ray Certification, Coronal Polishing Certification, numerous Straight-Wire Orthodontic Certifications from several courses, and has completed the Certified Dental Assistant Course. 'I love and enjoy being able to help Dr. Maltsberger provide such life-changing treatment for our patients. It just makes my day!'

Cyndi, CDA

Cyndi is a chairside dental assistant and has been working with Dr. Maltsberger since 1989. She became interested in dentistry after having orthodontic treatment by Dr. Maltsberger. She has her X-Ray certification, Coronal Polishing Certification, and Beginning and Advanced Straight Wire Assistant Certification. Cyndi graduated from Oologah High School and still lives in Oologah with her husband Greg and their six children—Forrest, Abby, Adam, Maggie, Daniel and Kathryn. Cyndi is an active leader in the Boy Scouts and commands a local AWANA Club.

Teresa, Appointment Administrator
|
|
Teresa is married to Steve, who has worked for Wal-Mart since 1983. They have three daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandsons who are more cherished every day. Teresa first met Dr. Maltsberger and his wonderful staff when he accepted her family as patients in 1992, after Wal-Mart moved her family to Oologah. Dr. Maltsberger was blessed to gain Teresa as a team member in 2005, in the position of sterilization coordinator. She is currently working in the front office as the appointment administrator. A hard worker and invaluable member of our team, Teresa appreciates and enjoys the challenge of achieving and maintaining the very high standards that Dr. Maltsberger and Dr. West, as well as the rest of the staff, demand for the safety and well-being of our patients.

Sherrie, Dental Assistant

Sherrie has been a chair-side assistant since 2004, began with Dr. Maltsberger’s staff as a temporary worker in 2005, and has been on staff since November 2007. She lives in Claremore with her husband Bob and four wonderful daughters, Manda, Nikki, Jamie and C.J. 'I love working with our great Doctor and staff, helping our patients to have a better quality of life.' Pursuing continuing education courses toward her goal of becoming a Certified Dental Assistant, Sherrie currently holds the positions of chairside assistant and sterilization coordinator. She is active in the youth ministry at her church, she mentor’s abused children, loves riding her 1200 Low Rider, and she coaches and plays soccer.
